I was treated to an afternoon tea yesterday at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel. To be honest with you, I’m not very good in posh locations, the pressure of having to be on my best behaviour gets the best of me. I end up becoming unusually clutzy with the china or clearly seem to make more decibels of noise than the common average… I call it Bridget Jones syndrome.
Anyway, whilst I was working out how to drain my tealeaves from the most bizarre looking device, the waitress arrived with the food part of the afternoon tea. It was beautiful and arranged so delicately on one of those free standing, three layer plate towers. I loved it! There were sandwiches, without crusts of course, with an array of pastries and desserts – each delicacy was so elegantly placed. These plate towers though got me thinking! They would be great for our vintage kit to hire out to tea lovers everywhere! Watch this space!
